Textile & Garment Trade Fair: Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris Return to Le Bourget 15 - 17 September 2025

Texworld Paris and Apparel Sourcing Paris will return to the Paris-Le-Bourget Exhibition Centre from 15 to 17 September 2025, organisers have confirmed. The upcoming edition will take place across Halls 2, 3 and 4, bringing together the key segments of Texworld Paris, Apparel Sourcing Paris, and their specialised zones, Avantex and Leatherworld.

Together, the shows will form a comprehensive sourcing platform for the global fashion industry, spanning the full spectrum from ready-to-wear to high-end luxury.

Organisers will be hosting 1,300 exhibitors at this 57th edition, which has returned to its traditional September slot to better align with buyers' schedules. The event layout will mirror that of the February 2025 edition, which was positively received by both manufacturers and fashion professionals.

With nearly 600 manufacturers expected, Texworld Paris will feature some 600 manufacturers and  suppliers from major textile-producing countries, with China, Türkiye, India, South Korea, and Taiwan being the top five represented nations. The Elite area of the show will be dedicated to high-value-added companies selected by the committee for their excellence in quality, competitiveness, responsiveness, and logistics, as well as new exhibitors, such as Alok Industries from India, known for its premium cotton fabrics for men’s ready-to-wear.

The Denim sector, which continues to grow, will bring together in Hall 4 (situated between Texworld and Apparel Sourcing Paris) some thirty fabric and finished product companies.

In the Apparel Sourcing Paris sector there will be 600 exhibitors, compared to 465 exhibitors in the February 2025 edition. This growth is fueled not only by strong participation from China, India, and Bangladesh, but also by a surge in companies from Hong Kong (with over 20 grouped under one shared pavilion) and Pakistan, which will showcase a “Sustainable Pakistan” pavilion with ten socially responsible businesses.

“In today’s tense economic climate, this edition reflects the ongoing reshaping of global supply chains,” comments Julien Schmoll, Marketing & Communication Director at Messe Frankfurt France. “Through regular dialogue with industry players in key fashion cities – Barcelona, London, Milan – we’ve confirmed these sourcing trends. We’re seeing a resurgence of finished apparel offers from countries like China and India, a shift toward near sourcing, a growing demand for product innovation, and diversification of supply. Our role is to connect buyers with the most relevant sourcing solutions.”

Visitors will also discover – or reconnect with – manufacturers from Cambodia, Myanmar (with an official pavilion), Rwanda, Vietnam, and Egypt. The return of these countries to the European market reflects the ongoing shift in sourcing strategies, where quality and flexibility are becoming decisive criteria, according to the organisers.

Near sourcing is set to be a prominent theme at this edition of Texworld Paris, with a notable increase in participation from suppliers based in Central and Eastern Europe. National pavilions from Armenia and Kyrgyzstan will be positioned near the entrance of Hall 3, featuring 11 Armenian and 14 Kyrgyz companies. These exhibitors will present a range of creative products, with a particular focus on the casual and sportswear sectors.

In addition, around 30 manufacturers from countries including Serbia, Romania, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Greece, and Italy will showcase their offerings in the Near Sourcing Hub, also located at the entrance to Hall 3. Each sample in this area will be accompanied by a QR code linked to the FourSource B2B digital platform—an official partner of Messe Frankfurt France—providing visitors with detailed product data and direct access to supplier contacts.

Avantex, the space dedicated to sustainable fashion services, solutions, and forward-thinking businesses, continues to grow in response to strong industry demand. The September edition will bring together 30 companies in the area connecting Hall 2 (home to the trends forum, service zones, and the Agora) and Hall 3. Innovative startups include NIL Textile, focused on recycled and recyclable materials, that will present the first T-shirt made from 100% biobased polylactic acid (PLA) derived from corn, T-Fashion, an AI-powered platform for generative design and trend forecasting, and Materra, winner of the 2024 Avantex Fashion Pitch, which offers a “Cotton-As-A-Service” model supporting sustainable cotton farming and direct brand sourcing.

Avantex will also host three days of talks, round-tables and keynotes to explore the transformation of the fashion industry – covering topics such as circularity, natural materials, generative AI, technical skills, evolving consumer behaviors, and European regulatory changes. New this year, the Agora will host the European event Bio Fashion Innovation Day on Wednesday 17th September, organized by TCBL (an Avantex partner for 3 sessions). This day programme will include keynotes, round tables, workshops, and networking sessions focused on local production, organic materials, eco-design, and more.

The 8th edition of the Avantex Fashion Pitch will also take place during the show, with finalists presenting to a jury comprising notable industry figures such as Carol Hilsum, Yoobin Jung, Jayne Simone Estève Curé, and Élodie Lemaire Nowinski. The event is held in partnership with IFA Paris and Messe Frankfurt’s Texpertise Network.

The jury for this edition will include Carol Hilsum (Venture Capital Advisor & LP – Fashion Tech Consultant & Mentor), Yoobin Jung (Ventures Associate – Plug and Play Tech Center), Jayne Simone Estève Curé (Fashion & Luxury Expert & Mentor), Élodie Lemaire Nowinski (Associate Professor & Researcher – France/US/UK) and Claudia Franz (Director Brand management Apparel Fashion & Fabrics and Interior & Contract Textiles, Messe Frankfurt). The deadline to submit applications is 15 July 2025. For more information, click HERE.

Launched in February 2025, the Initiatives zone at the entrance of Hall 4, will showcase innovative and inspiring approaches developed by selected exhibitors. Highlights include live demonstrations by fashion students, from LISAA Mode, who create knit and crochet pieces on-site, emphasizing both design and craftsmanship. Pasari Textiles (India) will exhibit its exceptional handmade embroideries, while the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce will present Turkish textile know-how through contemporary artistic approaches focused on patterns and dyeing. The China Textile Innovation Center (CTIC) will host a space dedicated to highlighting Chinese innovation through a curated selection of designers and brands.

Organisers say this September’s edition reaffirms Paris’s position as a vital hub in the global sourcing calendar, blending international craftsmanship with forward-looking innovation and sustainability.

Paris Trade Fair: Texworld and Apparel Sourcing Paris Return to Le Bourget in September 2025 with Renewed Focus on Sustainability and Innovation

Texworld and Apparel Sourcing Paris are set to return to the Paris-Le-Bourget Exhibition Centre from 15 to 17 September 2025, occupying Halls 2, 3 and 4. The shows will once again bring together Texworld Paris, Apparel Sourcing Paris, and their specialist offshoots Avantex and Leatherworld, forming a comprehensive sourcing platform for the international fashion industry, from ready-to-wear to luxury.

Organisers expect between 1,200 and 1,300 exhibitors at this autumn edition, which has returned to its traditional September slot to better align with buyers' schedules. The event layout will mirror that of the February 2025 edition, which was positively received by both manufacturers and fashion professionals.

Participation from key textile-producing countries is already confirmed. Exhibitors from China, India, Turkey, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong will be in attendance, underlining the continuing importance of the European market amid persistent US-China trade tensions. Interest from Central European garment producers is also said to be strong, and delegations from Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine are expected to make notable appearances at Apparel Sourcing Paris, showcasing high-quality, skilled manufacturing.

As in previous editions, the fair will be organised into thematic zones, with dedicated spaces for women's fashion and activewear. These curated areas aim to create a smoother sourcing journey for visitors by linking textiles with finished products.

Sustainability and innovation remain central themes. Avantex, situated in Hall 2, will focus on sustainable sourcing and technological solutions for a more transparent, circular fashion industry. Highlights include the unveiling of findings from the Herewear European project, led by TCBL, which explores bio-based, locally produced textiles as a foundation for a regionalised European market. The programme will include keynotes, panel discussions, exhibitions, and workshops.

Leatherworld will return to Hall 4, adjacent to the Denim section, reinforcing the link between raw materials and finished garments. Also in Hall 4, the Initiatives by Texworld zone will spotlight the textile expertise of countries including Turkey—presenting a trend-focused area featuring leading weavers—and India, showcasing traditional embroidery techniques.

Organisers say this September’s edition reaffirms Paris’s position as a vital hub in the global sourcing calendar, blending international craftsmanship with forward-looking innovation and sustainability.

Messe Frankfurt France has cancelled September editions of Apparel Sourcing, Avantex, Leatherworld, Shawls&Scarves, Texworld and Texworld Denim Paris

While a number of international trade fairs are hoping to proceed with their scheduled events this autumn, other organisers have decided to cancel, such as Messe Frankfurt France which has announced the cancellation of the September 2020 edition of Apparel Sourcing, Avantex, Leatherworld, Shawls&Scarves, Texworld and Texworld Denim Paris - international trade fairs for the fashion and textile industry, trims and accessories.

According to their released statement, they have come to this decision due to the lack of information on health requirements from the authorities for the major international events planned for September, as well as possible travel restrictions for international visitors that may still be in place.
With the threat of second spikes of the Covid-19 looming over many of their major participating countries such as China, while others are still seeing high infection numbers, it is understandable why the organisers have decided to forgo with the September shows.  Instead their team is now concentrating their efforts on the February 2021 exhibitions, while their original dates of  14 - 17 September 2020 were to coincide with Premiere Vision Paris September 2020 edition, which still at the moment will go ahead combining a physical event with a digital platform.

"A survey conducted amongst loyal textile and clothing buyers indicates that most of them are not yet ready to travel.  Serious consideration of all these issues and the lack of guarantees that this major event can be organised under good conditions has forced us to take this decision. A difficult decision, but one that is responsible to our visitors, exhibitors and partners," explains Frédéric Bougeard, President of Messe Frankfurt France.

"Our major international partners have renewed their confidence in us by confirming their presence from February 1 to 4, Mr. Bougeard added, saying from September onwards, Messe Frankfurt France will be offering several digital solutions to connect suppliers to buyers and to showcase their know-how and production capacities, which are the strength and originality of Messe Frankfurt France trade fairs.

Paris textile trade fairs recorded 81% of visitors came from abroad, say organisers

The very established Messe Frankfurt France which organised the group of  complementing textile and fashion trade fairs: APPAREL SOURCING PARIS – AVANTEX PARIS – SHAWLS & SCARVES PARIS the accessories showcase – TEXWORLD PARIS – TEXWORLD DENIM PARIS -  which took place at Le Bourget, Paris, from 11 to 14 February 2018, reportedly welcomed 13,606 international visitors, acknowledging that opening the shows on a Sunday had been a success.

“This February 2018 show with our initiative for a Sunday opening was a trial run for us. The gamble of opening the trade fair on a Sunday (had) paid off with an attendance of 18% of total visitors, who were able conduct their business in a calmer atmosphere,” said Michael Scherpe, President of Messe Frankfurt France, adding that the second day of the fairs, which fell on a Monday proved to be their busiest day of this edition.  However he confirmed that come September 2018, the shows will revert to their previous timetable to open on a Monday, 17th September running until 20th September 2018.

Mr Scherpe revealed that this February, the shows’ attendance remain international: the top five countries were respectively France, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Spain, and Italy.  New visitors were recorded from North America (+7%) and the African continent (+26%), led by the countries who are major suppliers for Europe such as Morocco (+25%) and Turkey (+15%), who came to Le Bourget to carry out sourcing.

The shows welcomed also visitors from emerging markets such as South Africa as well as Ethiopia, which was the country of honour this season.

“The Southern Hemisphere has proved to be very promising, since Australasia recorded a healthy increase of 55%. Nonetheless, we have noted a drop of 6% in attendance from Asian countries, obviously due to Chinese New Year, an all-important family celebration.  Anticipating that many Chinese exhibitors would be bringing their families, the shows also set up a day care centre to accommodate accompanying children.

“On the other hand, Turkey is very active with a 20% increase.  Returning to Europe, here visitor numbers from Eastern European countries have kept growing compared with February 2017, especially from Russia (+38%), Poland (+15%) and Hungary (+8%), and we see favourable results for the Ukraine, Cyprus, Finland and Bulgaria.

"These steady and sustainable visitor numbers go to demonstrate how very attractive Messe Frankfurt France’s Paris shows are and their strength as a business platform,” said Mr. Scherpe.

Paris Textile trade fairs report record attendance

As today's retailers continue their discussion and debates over the importance of bricks and mortar retailing as opposed to the increased popularity of online trading, trade fairs catered for the textile and fashion industry that offer face-to-face interactions are proving their continued relevance for conducting business.

As organisers at Messe Frankfurt France have reported this week, European fashion brands remain very keen on attending their recently held trade exhibitions, namely TEXWORLD and TEXWORLD DENIM  PARIS, APPAREL SOURCING, AVANTEX, SHAWLS & SCARVES – The ACCESSORIES SHOW-CASE, (the shows focusing on textiles, materials, components, trimmings and manufacturing for the fashion and accessories industry), have recorded 13.9% more visitors than the show held in September 2016, to the tune of 15,473 visitors in total.

According to Michael Scherpe, President of Messe Frankfurt France, the record turnout at these fairs, held at Le Bourget, Paris from 18 to 21 September 2017,  was "unexpected": after two years of lacklustre performance, buyers were in need of renewal and a change in fashion codes; the outlook was proactive and buyers were drawn to new products, he said.

There was a sharp increase of 15% in attendance and the top 5 countries that sent buyers and trade visitors included France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and Turkey respectively. The ranking that was identical to that of September 2016, with strong growth for all except France, which remained unchanged.  Germany came in 6th position, up by 18.7%, followed by Belgium up by 4.8%.

“We found the September 2017 show to be extremely busy. From the very first day of the show, there was a wind of change blowing through the shows. (There was) A fresh appetite for the industries of fashion. Global ready-to-wear firms were certainly present, ready to get down to serious and enthusiastic business at the stands. Exhibitors welcomed the attendance, even from the European luxury sector. The same goes for the return by Americans (+19,38)” says Michael Scherpe, President of Messe Frankfurt France.

The organisers pointed out that the joint trade fairs' artistic backdrops, the segmentation of the shows, and the scheduling of fashion shows and seminars along with the wide ranging exhibits all helped to enrich the experience of visitors and demonstrated that the show was open and appealing to all fashion brands.

On the "Small Quantities" circuit, large international luxury companies were set side-by-side with major global ready-to-wear brands, including young designs.  The quality of the materials was one of the discoveries welcomed by visitors.
China (with the largest contingent of weavers at Texworld Paris) was one of the main attractions, as confirmed by Zhang Tao, the Secretary General of CCIPT TEX. The improvement in the business models of domestic firms, as advocated by the Chinese government, aims to continue working towards genuine fashion products, to develop technical innovation and to emphasise sustainable development, said Mr Tao at a press conference.

At the “From Workshop to Shop” exhibition, organised by the Chinese government under the auspices of the CCIPT TEX, some 30 ensembles from 10 Chinese ready-to-wear brands were arranged around a space that, using virtual reality, immersed the visitor in the production sites. These brands for women’s and men’s ready-to-wear: Aiyimei, Upper , Bosideng, Hodo, Bridge Group, Dragon Silk, Heyi, Nikky, Top Garment, Sankei, Renoir and Yinchuan Binhe Ruyi, are already established in China and, are using the trade fair as a springboard to extend their presence on the world market.  A display of ever-more specialist skills from these 12 clothing manufacturers can also be seen at the show.

One of the highlights in the ELITE segment, an area dedicated to firms offering a wide range of tailored services, was the demonstration by a specialist attired in traditional Chinese brocades woven by hand using the traditional method of the Tujia ethnic group from the Chinese regions of Hunan and Hubei .

Upscaling was widely adopted at stands representing Turkish weavers, while the a wide range of cotton and embroidery from India was on offer, as well as quality prints from South Korea, the comprehensive offer, even technical products from Indonesian exhibitors all drew visitors’ interest. Creativity was the overall achievement recognised at TEXWORLD PARIS, said the organisers.

Texworld Denim was a new addition this season, with nearly 80 exhibitors for materials and clothing production to celebrate its grand opening.  The area allowed makers of fabrics and manufacturers in one area to make contact and to network.
Another area Business Beyond Borders, a partnership that fosters business contacts between players in the textile and clothing industry and small manufacturing firms, set up by Eurochambres, also met with resounding success, said organisers. Some 200 meetings were held in the dedicated space involving 258 companies from 42 countries.
Three conferences and round table discussions took place at TEXWORLD PARIS: the sector for future clothing, Ex-aequo, the trends for autumn/winter 18/19, new technologies and new skills.

Dates for the next TEXWORLD, Avantex, Apparel Sourcing, Shawls and Scarves and TEXWORLD DENIM: 11, 12, 13 & 14 February 2018 Paris Le Bourget.

General upturn in global economy boosted trade fair attendances

Texworld - APPAREL SOURCING – AVANTEX – SHAWLS & SCARVES –  Texworld Denim
18 - 21 September 2017 – Paris Le Bourget, France

Organisers of the Texworld Paris group of trade fairs have credited their record levels of visitor attendance this September to a general upturn in the global economy and restored confidence in the textile and apparel industry.

Messe Frankfurt France said their events - covering Apparel Sourcing, Avantex, Shawls & Scarves, Texworld and Texworld Denim Paris - posted 15,473 visitors, representing an increase of 13.9% compared with the September 2016 show.

European visitors, including the UK, Spain, Italy and Germany saw an increase of 15%, where as signs of recovery was shown by Belgium and France, while Turkey and the Netherlands posted positive results too. Russian buyers amounted to 8% of the visitors.

Asian representatives showed excellent results with an 8.5% increase, with a significant breakthrough for Japan, and very strong presence from South Korea and India.

A surprising positive result was shown by the American markets, according to the organisers, registering an increase of 7% from that market. While Canada, Colombia and Mexico remained stable, US visitors showed a real sign of confidence with greater attendance and there has been also a marked interest from Brazil.

The African continent sent 48% more visitors than previously, in particular a sharp increase coming from Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and South Africa.

A sign that attests to the Messe Frankfurt Group establishing  itself on the continent, since during the shows it announced that it has acquired ATF and Source Africa in Cape Town (South Africa).

“The shift towards high-end materials and skills in clothing production, which had been noticed over the course of past shows, has been confirmed once again. New offers like Texworld Denim, innovative and tailored services such as the business accelerator partnership Business Beyond Borders from the European Union and the internationalisation illustrated by a considerable number of national pavilions all contribute towards the positive development of the ranges offered by the trade fairs, ” says Michael Scherpe, President of Messe Frankfurt France.
