The pineapple is a tropical fruit that has predominantly been used as a symbol of luxury and hospitality. It is regarded as a status symbol too because in early European society, pineapples could not be grown on European soil, and therefore, only the affluent could afford to import them.
Subsequently it has been traded globally as a commodity, and planted in foreign lands.
Today the pineapple is favoured by food buffs due to its sweet taste for creating exotic dishes, but also the beauty of its symmetry makes it ideal for decorative products thus popular as a theme for interior designers.
A decorative piece, Pineapple Ceramic Vase (Dimensions: H:390 mm Dia:300 mm) has a stunning and unique texture and glorious green glaze, making it the perfect accessory to create an instant style statement, available at Luxeology Home (Luxeology.co.uk) |
