Interiors Trade Fair: Heimtextil 2026 to Spotlight AI, Sustainability and New Hospitality Partnership

Heimtextil, organised by Messe Frankfurt at its Exhibition Center, will take place from 13–16 January 2026, bringing together global professionals from the home and contract textiles sector. The trade fair is regarded as a key industry platform for insights into innovation, sustainability and the leading interior trends for 2026/2027, covering interiors, architecture, hospitality, retail supply, weaving and carpets.

The event has announced a new partnership with Hospitality Interiors Europe (HINT). As part of the collaboration, a complementary hospitality-focused format will launch alongside Heimtextil 2027, targeting decision-makers from the hotel and high-end hospitality design sector. Hospitality Interiors Europe will already be represented at Heimtextil 2026 with a dedicated lounge area. The partnership aims to strengthen synergies between architecture, interior design, hospitality and the contract sector.

Hospitality Interiors Europe is organised by Strive Exhibitions, whose founders Toby Walters and Sam Murray also launched Cruise Ship Interiors Expo. Messe Frankfurt said the partnership reflects the growing importance of hospitality and contract interiors as key growth areas for the global textile industry.

A central focus of Heimtextil 2026 will be Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on the textile sector. On the Texpertise Stage, visitors will explore how AI is transforming design, production, retail, sustainability and communication. The programme will examine both strategic and practical applications of AI across design, architecture, interior design and contract furnishing.

The Heimtextil 26/27 colour palette contrasts earthy shades — sand, clay, soot and olive — with vivid digital accents such as acidic green, lilac and screen blue. The result is a dynamic blend of natural calm and synthetic disruption, reflecting the balance between handcraft and high-tech innovation.

Key highlights include the Heimtextil Trends 26/27 by Alcova, a bespoke design installation by Patricia Urquiola, and a live talk by architect and AI specialist Tim Fu. Urquiola will present her creative process and discuss material cycles, sustainable design, and the integration of craftsmanship and technology. Her Architonic LIVE TALK will take place on the Texpertise Stage in Hall 6.0.

Additional programme topics include AI-driven textile innovation, exhibition design in dialogue with material and technology, and the DNFI Innovation in Natural Fibres Award.  Click HERE for the Events Programme.

Guided tours led by Daniel Stier will run throughout the three-day event, offering insights into Urquiola’s installation and the convergence of textiles, technology and sustainability.

Heimtextil 2026 will also introduce the New Talent Area in Hall 6.1, showcasing emerging textile designers from around the world. The curated exhibition has been developed in collaboration with trend expert Jennifer Castoldi of Trendease International.

Home and Contract Textiles Fair: Heimtextil 2025 to Unveil New Design Trend Curator and Expanded Product Offerings from January 14–17 in Frankfurt

Heimtextil, one of the world’s largest and most influential trade fairs for home and contract textiles, serves as a major platform for manufacturers, designers, and retailers in the textile and interior design industries. The fair showcases the latest trends, innovations, and insights across home textiles, furnishings, and sustainable materials.

Organized by Messe Frankfurt, Heimtextil will next take place from January 14-17 2025 in its extensive exhibition grounds in Frankfurt. The event will span 16 hall levels dedicated to various textile categories, from fibres and yarns to finished products, providing a comprehensive market overview.

On a visit to London in October, Ivonne Seifert, Heimtextil's Director of Marketing Communications, shared that to-date approximately 2,900 exhibitors from 60 countries are set to present their latest collections, materials, and textile solutions, each showcasing current trends and innovations. Seifert highlighted that the upcoming event would introduce new highlights and additions, making Heimtextil a prime destination for trade visitors eager to expand their textile knowledge. As a networking and knowledge hub, Heimtextil aids companies in future-proofing their development and growth.

In response to growing demand for trend guidance, Heimtextil has, for the first time, enlisted Milan-based design platform Alcova to curate the Heimtextil Trends 25/26.  Additionally, world-renowned designer and architect Patricia Urquiola will bring textile design to life with an exclusive installation under the theme “among-us” in the Trend Arena.

Texworld Evolution Paris - February 6 - 8 - welcomes international buyers

From 6 to 8 February 2023, Texworld Evolution Paris will once again take place at the Paris-Le-Bourget exhibition center, playing host to a total of 750 exhibitors from some 20 countries.

The international fair is billed as one of the main sourcing fairs for the textiles and fashion industry will feature brands ranging from ready-to-wear to luxury textiles.

Organisers at Messe Frankfurt say they expect another successful show as the level of visitor pre-registrations have suggested a real enthusiasm for this edition.

In the Texworld Paris section, there will be 460 exhibitors.  Chinese participants return with 220 compaies, taking the lead again among the exhibitors. They are followed by Turkish manufacturers, with 122 companies, Koreans (43 companies) and Indians (45 companies), along with Japanese and Indonesian manufacturers.

In the Apparel Sourcing Paris section, which focuses on finished products, there are 270 companies, including 210 Chinese manufacturers whose participation is supported by the CCPIT TEX (Council for the Promotion of International Trade), a loyal partner of the Texworld Evolution Paris fair.

The African continent, which confirms its aim to strengthen its role in global sourcing, will also be represented with companies from Ethiopia and, for the first time, Ghana, with the support of the ITC (International Trade Center) and the German cooperation association GIZ (Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit).

Visitors from around the globe are treated to a programme of activities and pathways for orientation, with several round tables and conferences on offer. They will open the debates on current themes, such as the contributions of Web3 in the fashion and clothing industry, second-hand markets, or ways to make a company sustainable without compromising its competitiveness.

Other highlights will punctuate the three-day show with topical issues raised by sustainable fashion and recyclability, with, in particular, presentations by PhDs from the Bali Chair. A conference on the sourcing offer in Ghana will allow visitors to discover the industrial potential of this country.

One new addition this February is the launch of The Red Thread, a pathway which provide a link to all the exhibition's points of attraction. It will guide buyers from the entrance of the show to the Trends Forum and the Elite Forum – these two spaces created by the show's Art Directors showcase a selection of samples to imagine the spring-summer 2024 collections – through the Denim Village (20 exhibitors) and its Denim Trends Forum, the national pavilions and the Agora where the conferences will take place.

This February edition also includes a revisited sustainable sourcing itinerary. This will bring together a hundred companies that have implemented CSR initiatives in an operational manner.

Organisers say the number of Apparel Sourcing Paris exhibitors included in this itinerary has increased significantly compared to previous editions. This itinerary will be accompanied by the two other traditional itineraries, the small quantity itinerary (for small brands and capsule collections), and the handmade itinerary (for the finest handicraft).

Mr Scherpe continued: “From the very outset we were focussed on what is central to our work: trade talk and business. The atmosphere remained very vibrant throughout. Prime contractors attended the shows in the first place for work and to satisfy their curiosity. I am delighted to see the full effects of our strategy – encouraging contact with the materials, the skills and the people who offer them. It is an approach that I want to keep pursuing.”

Highlights of the fairs included shining a spotlight on environmentally friendly materials and sustainable developments, along with a series of lectures and presentations.
Dates for the next Messe Frankfurt France shows will be from 16 to 19 September 2019 at Le Bourget in Paris.
