Copenhagen Fashion Week: Baum und Pferdgarten Unveils SS26 Collection “Notes from the Grandstand” at Historic Danish Racetrack

Danish fashion house Baum und Pferdgarten brought equestrian elegance to the runway with the debut of its Spring/Summer 2026 collection - Notes from the Grandstand - presented on 6 August at Copenhagen Fashion Week. The show took place at the Charlottenlund Travbane, the oldest racetrack in the Nordics, still active today and steeped in history — a fitting venue for a collection inspired by the world of the Derby.

Set between the old horse stables, the show highlighted the equestrian spirit that forms the heart of the collection. Creative Directors Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave drew on their lifelong connection to horses to create a collection that captures the atmosphere of the racetrack — from the sharp, functional uniforms of jockeys to the pageantry of guests dressed to impress.

“We were drawn to the sharp colour-blocking and purpose-driven silhouettes of jockeys — so bold, so functional, so instantly recognisable,” said Baumgarten and Hestehave. “And just as captivating were the guests, dressed to be seen from every angle. That tension between performance and pageantry gave us a rich foundation to explore character, contrast, and everything in between.”

Notes from the Grandstand is a study in contrasts. Sporting elements are reimagined through a refined, fashion-forward lens. Striped nylon nods to jockey uniforms, while checks and vibrant colour-blocking bring a sense of dynamic movement. Feminine details — such as frilled accents on outerwear and softly draped blouses — provide tension and elegance in equal measure.

The collection is also rich in texture and symbolic motifs: powder pink hues and faux suede accessories evoke composed drama, while horse rosettes and vintage lace reference equestrian tradition. Leopard prints and faux leather inject modern energy into the otherwise heritage-inspired lineup.

Silhouettes ranged from dropped-waist dresses to sharp, tailored pieces and fluid layering. The overall effect was one of graceful utility, grounded in tradition but reaching confidently into the contemporary.

The casting blended familiar faces and new talent, with models including Anaa Saber, Emma Rosenzweig, Eddie Klint, Bibi Abdulkadir, and Boy Ewald. Many have previously walked for the house, underscoring the brand’s ongoing dialogue between continuity and innovation.

Beauty direction was provided by M.A.C. Cosmetics Nordics, with hair by Oribe. A special runway-exclusive T-shirt was also introduced during the show, available for immediate purchase via Baum und Pferdgarten’s website and flagship Copenhagen boutique.

For Baumgarten and Hestehave, the show marked a personal return to their roots. Both designers grew up around horses, and this collection weaves their childhood memories of racetracks and stables into a rich visual narrative.

With Notes from the Grandstand, Baum und Pferdgarten continues to celebrate storytelling through fashion — where tradition meets transformation, and every garment is part of the show.

Copenhagen Fashion Week: Baum und Pferdgarten's Office Olympics collection a Gold Medal performance

Danish fashion house Baum und Pferdgarten debuted its Spring Summer 2025 collection, titled "Office Olympics," during Copenhagen Fashion Week for the first time.

Copenhagen-based designers Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave drew inspiration from the summer of 2024, a season dominated by sports that infused every aspect of daily life.

Timed perfectly to show during the final week of the Paris Summer Olympic Games, the collection promised—and delivered—a seamless blend of office sophistication and sporty energy, capturing the essence of the modern professional wardrobe.

According to the designers, as people left their offices to follow the games, this vibrant energy became the heart of their collection.

"Office Olympics is about fusing the sophistication of office wear with the energy of athletic aesthetics, creating a collection that is both functional and fashionable. We wanted to bring the excitement of the sports world into the office environment," said the two creative directors.

The collection introduces a versatile range of pieces that combine sporty elements with feminine details. Football-inspired shirts, sporty logos, and stripes are paired with light dresses, skirts, frills, and sequined pieces, alongside traditional office attire like paneled polo shirts, blazers, and cardigans, resulting in a harmonious blend of styles.

The colour palette features refreshing pastels—light purple, blue, and green tones—complemented by brown and bold red accents, along with vibrant floral prints that evoke a sense of optimism.

Tailored blazers, trousers, and skirts offer both flexibility and comfort, ideal for navigating a busy workday. Playful sporty elements add a modern edge to traditional office wear, creating a versatile mix-and-match collection where pencil skirts pair with sporty oversized T-shirts, encouraging personal creativity.

The "Office Olympics" show was held at Østerbro Stadium in collaboration with the iconic Copenhagen football club B.93 and their women’s team. Noteworthy accessories included handbags shaped like footballs, particularly a glittering version designed for evening wear to complement sequined separates.

Baum und Pferdgarten’s new collection reflects their commitment to merging corporate elegance with athletic dynamism, all while preserving the brand's signature blend of comfort and chic appeal.

The runway cast featured a mix of models and friends of the brand, including familiar faces who have previously walked for Baum und Pferdgarten, as well as new talent. M.A.C. Cosmetics Nordics provided makeup, while Oribe styled the hair, ensuring the models embodied the perfect blend of sophistication and sportiness.

A special T-shirt, inspired by classic football shirts and the collaboration with B.93, was also showcased on the runway. This exclusive piece will be available for immediate purchase on Baum und Pferdgarten’s webshop and at their Copenhagen Flagship Store shortly after the show.

Danish and British womenswear brands showcase SS 2022 collections at Copenhagen Fashion Week

This summer, when most people are probably staycationing in their home country (including here in the UK), floral prints and long dresses seem to be all the craze for women aiming to lounge around indoors, out of the heat and unseasonal weather.

Next summer however, women's fashion will be all about tailoring in jackets of generous shapes, and dressing up in stylized casual separates: shirts and cover-ups in various shapes, easy tops and refreshing colours, according to labels showing (digitally or in physical shows) at last week’s Copenhagen Fashion Week.

Here are a few looks showcased by Danish fashion houses Baum und Pferdgarten, Lovechild 1979, as well as Scandinavian brand Gestuz.    Meanwhile,  London-based eco-brand Teatum Jones takes denim to a new dimension, pairing with mixed prints, and tailored suits feature belted jackets.

BAUM UND PFERDGARTEN

Founded in Copenhagen in 1999, Baum und Pferdgarten is known for their timeless and design-led collections full of unexpected playful contrasts.

The name is an interplay between the surnames of the founding Creative Directors, Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave. Throughout their long-standing partnership, Rikke and Helle have continuously complemented and pushed each other, resulting in covetable pieces in beautiful fabrics, memorable prints and bold colours.

"We want to create designs for women who want to have fun with their personal expression. Our collections can be worn in many different ways by many different women. We create clothes that help women tell their own story."

Baum und Pferdgarten collections can be found in selected department stores and retailers in more than 25 countries worldwide.

GESTUZ

Gestuz is a brand that has the modern woman in mind. Always creating go-to pieces that embrace the everyday life of a woman and instilling the notion that there is no one way of being female or dressing so: it is whatever you choose.

Rooted in the effortless ease of the Scandinavian design heritage, Gestuz simultaneously rebels against it by subtly disrupting and updating the classics.

Gestuz was founded in 2008 by Sanne Sehested, who wanted to create a brand inspired by her own wardrobe and the kind of energy and feeling she believed fashion should give the wearer.

LOVECHILD 1979

Lovechild 1979 is a Copenhagen-based label for modern women (and men) who want timeless, luxurious fashion, according to creative director Anne-Dorthe Larsen.

Together with her design team they make clothes authentic to their own tastes, creating pieces that transcend seasons and flow with your personal style.

The Lovechild 1979 aesthetic is feminine yet grounded by masculine, tailored silhouettes, effortless prints and styles always instantly recognizable by the beautiful detailing.

TEATUM JONES

Both born Londoners with British and Irish heritage, designers Catherine and Rob are united by a shared fascination with human narrative.

They truly believe in the power of fashion to present a pro-social message of inclusivity and positive identity; and believe in creating sustainable and socially conscious fashion that puts people at the heart of their creation.

Teatum Jones are considered pioneers of the London inclusivity movement. Their vision for a more UNIFIED world has meant they have always had a more human approach to fashion. From 2011 they have focussed their entire vision around human stories, which have been the very foundation of their collections.  Their motto: Recycling, and using Waste and Environmentally-Friendly materials.

Teatum Jones are currently the British Library's Designers in Residence and are passionate researchers who make use of the UK's many museum archives. They value talking to people as part of their in-depth creative research and have been referred to as "method designers.
