Texworld Evolution Paris - Le Showroom opens July 5th as a physical show

For months now due to the continuous development of the Covid-19 pandemic, the organisation of in-person physical trade fairs has not been possible except for virtual or web-based attendance.  Now by and by, as more people are vaccinated and more markets are confident that the virus is under reasonable control, events are starting to return in the more traditional sense.  That is, accepting in-person attendance.

Returning this week is Texworld Evolution Paris - Le Showroom textile trade fair being staged from July 5 to 9, 2021 in two exclusive locations in the heart of the French Capital: the Atelier Richelieu and, a few steps away, at 5 rue du Mail

This sourcing itinerary for fabrics, garments and accessories will bring together an expanded offer of more than 7,500 samples selected by 160 companies from 15 countries who will be showcasing their Autumn-Winter 2022-23 collections, according to organisers at Messe Frankfurt France, featuring twice as many exhibitors and three times more products than the last February 2021 show.

Albeit in a hybrid format, Texworld Evolution Paris will also see the broadcasting of two series of Podcasts dedicated to textile innovation: the Trend Casting series dedicated to decoding trends; and the Avantex Casting series to highlight tech nuggets and talk about disruptive innovations with a first episode produced with the innovation office derigueur.tech!

Le Showroom presents two main areas:

The Fashion Library displaying, per categories, several thousands of fabric samples, garments and accessories from selected manufacturers.

The Trend forum imagined by TexworldArt Directors highlighting the most promising textile samples and garments from selected companies.

A dedicated area will present 15 Chinese brands, featuring a strong involvement in sustainable supply chains, manufacturing know-how and flexible capacity.  A dedicated webinar will also take place on July 9th at 10 AM (CEST) to provide insights on the Chinese brands Chinese and the China Textile & Apparel industry.

Separately, Dance Worldwide from Taiwan and A Jin Corporation from South Korea will be participating for the first time, offering knit fabrics, along with Mandarin Enterprises International, a premium silk manufacturer. Many exhibitors have renewed their presence, such as the Korean silk specialist Great Duksan, and the two embroiderers Kaskas (French-Lebaneese) & SN Mukara (India), showcasing handmade products.

Two Madagascan manufacturers, Index OI and Vector International, are represented for the first time at the show. Nearby additional sourcing destinations will be provided by the German manufacturer Black Q, the Polish Rascal Industry & the Portuguese Valerius Texteis. Two exhibitors will present their collection of alternative materials to leather and fur.  Several exhibitors will be present for "face to face" appointments, including Index OI of Madagascar and the 2 Sisters from Bangladesh. Fabric manufacturers Noteboom from the Netherlands and Hemmers of Germany will send sales representatives to the event, as well as the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) and the Korean Textile Industry Federation (Kofoti).

Texworld Evolution Paris - Le Showroom a success, say organisers

Organisers of the Paris Texworld shows for international textiles and fashion companies should be applauded for staging a physical event, albeit at a much reduced size during these challenging pandemic times, with travel restrictions and social distancing firmly still in place.

Texworld Evolution Paris - Le Showroom held February 1 - 5 2021 by Messe Frankfurt France at the Atelier Richlieu in Central Paris has been deemed a success, having welcomed more than 500 buyers and professional visitors from the fashion, textile and clothing industries (those based locally or able to travel in), under guided protocol and safety conditions.  Normally in their original format the fairs would attract 13,000 plus visitors to the Paris shows each season.

Texworld Evolution Paris - Le Showroom (so named as a new entity and format) presented Spring-Summer 2022 trends and 2,500 selected samples from 75 international manufacturers representing 10 countries.

Messe Frankfurt France confirms the success of its “innovative formula for textile and clothing discovery,” facilitating the trade visitors to discover, touch the selected samples and establish direct communication with the participating manufacturers, resulting  in 3,235 requests for collection projects or orders.

Visitors represented major ready-to-wear brands, start-ups and  fashion designers.  Among them, Tiphaine Le Magoariec, founder of The Green Tone, which assists European and Chinese brands and manufacturers in their quest for sustainable fashion, salutes on Linkedin this "high-end off-line experience."

Revealing on Instagram, the Dotchot Kimono brand underlines "the quality of the eco-friendly fabrics presented in the showroom". On the exhibitors' side, the Turkish manufacturer Zeynar Tekstil highlights on Twitter "the important number of direct interactions with visitors throughout the week", report organisers.

"The undeniable success of this event confirms our choice, which was not easy to make, to offer a credible physical alternative solution, with a personalized welcome around carefully selected products,” said Frédéric Bougeard, President of Messe Frankfurt France in a press release.

“Beyond the simple pleasure of getting together and working together again, this showroom - enriched with an inspiring Trend Forum - meets the market's expectations. The sourcing necessities of the fashion industry will become more and more linear; they want more regular meetings and are in favour of intermediate solutions such as this one, complementary to the trade shows which remain essential.

“This is why we will maintain, if the conditions allow it, an event for fashion and textile professionals in July," continues Frédéric Bougeard. This exhibition is to be held for the first time in Central Paris, Porte de Versailles (a new venue for the  show). If the restrictions are still in force, we will in any case propose an alternative to the fashion industry, whose format and concept may evolve on the basis of this initial feedback."

In the meantime, international professionals can access the selection displayed in the showroom online on the digital sourcing platform developed by Messe Frankfurt France with its partner Foursource. This digital connecting solution allows textile and clothing manufacturers to present their collections to international buyers. The latter benefit from a specific section to define their queries (matchmaking, definition of needs), submit requests for samples and quotations and finally build their collection based on selective factors designed for the textile world: country, minimum quantities, type of service, certificates.  The platform is accessible from the Texworld Evolution Paris website.

Texworld Evolution Paris - Le Showroom opens in heart of Paris

Messe Frankfurt France have cancelled their February 2021 textile trade shows in their normal format, but instead they are staging an alternative solution with a new event from February 1 to 5 at the Atelier Richelieu, in the heart of Paris.

Texworld Evolution Paris - Le Showroom
which opens on February 2 is set to allow buyers and designers to explore offers from a selected number of exhibitors from the sister events of Apparel Sourcing, Avantex, Leatherworld and Texworld Paris.

Upon invitation at the time slot of their choice, visitors can have direct access, in optimal conditions of comfort and security, to the textile and clothing collections arranged around two main areas:

• A Trend Forum imagined by the artistic directors of Texworld Evolution Paris, Louis Gérin and Grégory Lamaud, offering to a creative inspiration book elaborated around a selection of textile and clothing samples that will become the fashion of spring-summer 2022.

• A Library is to unveil, by categories, a precise selection of several thousands of fabrics samples and finished goods to be discovered in specially designed areas that will facilitate the professionals' journey.

Upon arrival at the showroom, buyers are provided with a digital tool specifically developed to facilitate direct contact with manufacturers for expressing interest, requesting samples or quotations. Le Showroom is therefore an innovative response to ensure that this essential connection between the international garment industry and textile and clothing buyers is maintained, and thus allow them to make foreward preparations for the July 2021 trade shows.

“Le Showroom is the first international professional textile event to be held in Paris within a year and offers a new way of organizing fashion sourcing," explains Frédéric Bougeard, President of Messe Frankfurt France.

For interested parties not able to physically visit Le Showroom, all participating exhibitors will be added to their digital platform at the end of February. The registration to the platform is fast and free, and will give an all-year-round access!

Meanwhile the international Première Vision Paris show for all sectors of the textile and materials industry will be holding a digital show for its February edition, presaging the continued health constraints on a global scale.

The PV Paris digital show will run from February 15 to 19, with the introduction of new services for the industry thus refleting the marked acceleration of the group's digitization. Première Vision will also be bringing online its new website, to be rolled out in several stages over the coming year, which will bring together all its trade shows and its own Marketplace platform.

Throughout the last few months, Première Vision has been engaged in supporting the international fashion industry as it faces the difficult challenges posed by the Covid-19 health crisis, introducing new and innovative e-commerce features to its Marketplace, and speeding the development of its digital system.
