FatFace launches new Sustainable Swimwear range this summer

Just the answers for this heatwave we are having in the UK and much of Europe, if you  can get away to somewhere nice to take a dip and keep cool.  And they are kind to our planet too.
UK multi-chain retailer FatFace has launched an eco-friendly swimwear range made from recycled fibres.

The printed and colourful swimwear - designed to flatter the wearer from pool side to the beach - are produced  using a special fibre from Korean company Hyosung.
Its MIPAN® regen fibre is made from recycled nylon  which significantly reduces energy consumption.

MIPAN® regen is a reclaimed nylon yarn made by recycling pre-consumer waste, an eco-friendly product that has acquired CONTROL UNION's Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certification.
MIPAN® regen is one of Hyosung’s portfolio of sustainable nylon, polyester fibres, energy saving products to meet the consumer’s need for multi-functional and eco friendly clothing.
FatFace presently has more than 200 stores and a fast growing e-commerce website to serve domestic as well as international markets.

On a warm summery evening in London in early May, there was glamour in the air at Old Billingsgate Market where the London Yacht, Jet and Prestige Car Show took place.

A selection of luxury swimwear brands was the highlight of a runway show organised by Prestige Fashion, a partnership between Irina Dobbs (UFFR) and Joseph Bachman of Calico.

Playing on a James Bond theme throughout the three-day event, there was a fashion show with 12 designers and 20 glamorous models, and concluded on the last day with a presentation by Irina Dobbs’ Fase di Moda collection in collaboration with Jane Taylor, a milliner of the Royal Family and a favourite designer of the Duchess of Cambridge.

As for the catwalk show, after opening with a ballet performance, the Prestige Fashion event showcased brands that came from various parts of the world.

To kick off the show was Fase di Moda's swimwear from their Horoscope collection (above right and left), with images of Zodiac signs and swimwear incrusted with semi-precious birthstones and matching pareos.
Other brands that followed included the swimwear brand AMOIRAI (shown below) which featured their sophisticated cut-out fullsuits in sophisticated black and marine blue.

Meanwhile PGM Fashion from Singapore featured vibrant-coloured bikinis and bold prints on briefs, bandeaus, halters and push-up tops.

Their swimwear and matching cover-ups were embellished with Swarovski crystals and 18-karat gold pieces.
